Hey Fans just wanted to let you know that by this Friday I am closing up http://www.crowiefanclub.blogspot.com/ and opening up http://www.crowiefanclub.com/. The reason for this is because for the past two weeks I have been receiving fan requests like crazy and emails from fans and I think that this Fan Club is getting bigger therefore should have a bigger and better site! This entire week I am going to be working on the new site so it is not open currently but by Friday it will be! This new site is going to be awesome with a flash intro, many different pages, photo albums, registration page, forum, BLOG!! and more! Thank you fans for giving me a reason to upgrade the site. BTW anyone who thinks Crowie should race in Dubai better act soon because Singapore is dominating

Halfway There!

Wow, over the past few weeks I have been recieving fan requests like crazy, I bet it has something to do with Crowie's 2010 Race Schedule that I am giving to every new member. Anyways sorry I haven't updated the blog recently I have been extremely busy with high school exams and skiing but just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't forgotten. The site is just beginning to take off finally and I believe that this weekend I am going to upgrade it from a blog to an actual website that will be much better designed. I was very excited last thursday to get an email from Craig giving me his schedule and some other stuff and I hope that I get some more before the end of his triathlon season. The most recent debate about Crowie is whether he should race in the Singapore 70.3 or Abu Dubai? I really have no say in that due to the fact that my dad does neither race and we live in Canada but for those who do I have put a poll on the side of the blog, so far Singapore is winning. Anyways I am glad that we have finally reached the halfway point and I hope that Christmas and New Yeas treated everyone well! Keep up the Good Work

Oh by the way I put up a new section called the "Member's Businesses" and that is just businesses or services that Craig's fans have to offer

Christmas Come and Gone (from crowie's blog)

The following is from Crowie's Blog, not from me

All of a sudden I blinked and Christmas has come and gone for another year. It was great fun with the kids, and we managed to get away from Sydney for a few days up the north coast of NSW visiting family. We also decided to drop in to Port Macquarie, home of Pete Murray triathlon race commentator, for his surprise 40th birthday bash.

The big milestone for our family in the beginning of 2010 will be February 4th, when Lucy starts school here in Cronulla. She is starting young at 4 1/2 years, but after much discussion with the school and Principal, we feel she is truly ready !! It’s a big move to pull Lucy out of school after first term to travel overseas, but we feel with distance education and the world experience gained through travel we think this is the right decision for our family. We will return in October for her to finish 4th term and the school year. She is very excited and is counting down the weeks til day one.

Not being in the USA at the present we missed the NBC coverage of the Hawaiian Ironman this year on Dec 19th. We have had lots of feedback and emails and look forward to seeing it aired on Australian tv soon.

New Years Eve is just days away and then the 2010 racing season will be upon me. I have been working on a 2010 race schedule. It’s not 100% finalized but is gradually taking shape. We will be heading back to the USA in late April and will be arriving back to our base in Boulder again in mid May.

I have a brief trip planned back to the USA at the end of January for the Endurance Sports Awards in San Diego. I would like to start the year the same as I did last year with the Geelong IM 70.3, but I have had more time off after Kona than last year, so I will see how training progresses over the next month.

We are very excited as we just took delivery of our personalized T3 recovery mattresses here in Australia. Lucy can’t yet understand why her name is on her mattress !!! She is becoming quite the sponsored athlete as she just received a pair of mini normatec recovery boots. Gilad from Normatec was so impressed with Lucys effort at the Keiki Dip’n'dash race in Kona that he immediately added her to his roster of sponsored athletes !!!

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and have a healthy and safe New Years,

from my family to yours,

Craig

2009 Sports Performer Awards

Hey fans, sorry for the belated announcement, just wanted to recognize Craig Alexander for edging out Aussie sporting greats such as Cadel Evans, Steve Hooker, Mark Webber and Jarryd Hayne in a publicly voted race to be named the Sports Performer of the Year. His amazing back to back victories in the grueling Hawaiian Ironman, placed him in elite company of only three other athletes that have managed to back up and win 2 years in a row. The Awards Night recognised Kurt Fearnley as the Performer of the Year with a Disability, Lauren Mitchell as Best Young Talent, Bart Cummings as Coach of the Year, as well as the Australian Socceroos as Team of the Year. Four Legends of Australian Sport were also recognised on the night for their Sporting lives, and in a unique format outlined each others careers. These four were Michael O’Laughlin and Tom Harley ( AFL), Mark Skaife ( Motor Racing) and Shane Kelly a true legend of Australian Cycling. All of these were deserving choices for the award!
